American football player and coach


Shane Richardson is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach for Northern Michigan University, a position he has held since 2023. He served as the head football coach at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke from 2014 to 2022. He was hired as head coach of the Braves on February 21, 2014.[1] His contract was not renewed following the 2022 season.[2]

  1. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCAA canceled all Division II championships in fall sports for 2020. Unlike Division I, those championships were not moved to spring 2021. Most D-II members had chosen not to play fall sports in calendar 2020.
