New Orleans finished ahead of LA Rams based on head-to-head victory. Atlanta finished ahead of Washington based on head-to-head victory. Atlanta finished ahead of Carolina based on head-to-head sweep. Washington finished ahead of Carolina based on head-to-head victory. NY Giants finished ahead of Tampa Bay based on head-to-head victory. When breaking ties for three or more teams under the NFL's rules, they are first broken within divisions, then comparing only the highest-ranked remaining team from each division.

Please read before updating

Please make sure to update:

Both teams: If the match was not interconference, update the record of both teams (not just the winner or the team you support).
Every column: Update every column (not just W-L-T-PCT). Pay close attention to SOS, SOV, and STK (errors will be hard to detect).
Correct positions: Make sure the teams are in the correct positions. In particular, make sure teams with the same record are ranked correctly based on the tiebreakers of the NFL.

Usage

This is a template that was created to easily update every article with the 2016 NFC standings.

The teams should be sorted according to the NFL tiebreaking rules, as indicated by such reliable sources as ESPN's playoff standings (the conference standings page on NFL.com are usually not accurate on this issue because they normally do not sort them by ALL the tiebreaking rules until the end of the season).

Because of the complexities of the tiebreaking rules, anything that is not verifiable may be reverted on grounds of original research. The footnotes listing the tiebreakers are currently displayed using the "lower-alpha" predefined footnote group (see WP:EXPLNOTE).
