Universal_Circulating_Music_Library
Universal Circulating Music Library was a music publishers' activity established in the United Kingdom in the 1850s and 1860s.[1] By the 1920s no significant such circulating libraries by music publishers survived, most probably due to reduced demand (the interested public would just buy the music they were interested in). In terms of the housed collections/music in such "libraries" run by publishers, it is probably fair to say that most was lost, with only some still being in music publisher's archives.
