Description |
Anna Maria Dashwood married the
2nd Marquess of Ely
in 1810. This portrait was painted in about 1805, when she was nineteen or twenty. She faces the viewer, leaning her right arm on a table, wearing a high-waisted white dress with short sleeves and a pink sash; her hair in a topknot with curls around the face; a large rectangular jeweled brooch at her breast with a small sprig of pink and blue flowers, a jeweled bracelet on her right wrist; and a pink shawl.
