Summary
Description 1961 Porsche Abarth 356 Carrera GTL (21249391293).jpg |
The Porsche 356 was a lightweight luxury sports car built from 1948-65, rear engine and rear wheel drive, available as a hardtop coupe or a cabriolet. It was replaced by the 911 in 1963, but the 356 continued to be built until 1965. The Carrera Abarth was built in 1960 and 61 on the 356B chassis and using the 356B running gear, with a four-cam Carrera engine, but with a specially designed lightweight aluminum body instead of the production steel body. The Carrera Abarths are one of the rarest Porsche models and only 21 were made. Photographed at the Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca in 2015 |
