Description 330-PSA-23-62 (USN 711007) (21649093158).jpg | 330-PSA-23-62 (USN 711007): The Naval Research Laboratory’s Solar Radiation IV will monitor x-ray radiation from the Sun and ultraviolet radiation in the night sky. Visible in the photograph are: three solar cell patches; one of the sphere’s four x-ray detectors (dark vertical line on left side of ball’s equator); the four parallel gun-barrel-like ultraviolet detectors; the six Earth-aspect detectors (dark tube-like attachments or horns jutting out diagonally from the sphere); the two small gas satellite’s equator; half of the four miniature rocket backup spin-up satellites making up the payload of Composite I.
