5th Battalion, Victorian Scottish Regiment, an Australian Army militia unit, on parade April 1940. In early 1940 the unit was called up for a three month period of continuous training as part of the nation's mobilisation during World War II. The battalion would later serve as garrison troops in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, whilst many of its members would volunteer for overseas service with the AIF.
