Summary
Description Acceptable Testosterone Levels in Females and Males Compared to a Hypothetical Athlete.svg |
English:
Hyperandrogenism is when testosterone levels are elevated beyond the typical levels. Some athletes also have testosterone insensitivity which means they are males but they're bodies are unable to process testosterone messages so they develop phenotypically as females. Treatments can range from taking drugs to suppress testosterone levels to undergoing surgery to alter their bodies so that they are unable to produce testosterone.
