Description
English: Painting by Carlos Paris depicting the outcome of the Battle of Tampico, Tamaulipas, on 11 September 1829, when Spanish troops attempting to reconquer Mexico after it became independent from Spain in 1821 were defeated. Antonio López de Santa Anna, commander of the Mexican troops, is seen at the center standing and giving orders to a man on horseback in front of him. On the right wounded soldiers being attended by other soldiers are seen.
Español: Pintura por Carlos París mostrando el resultado de la batalla de Tampico, Tamaulipas, el 11 de septiembre de 1829, cuando tropas españolas intentando reconquistar a México después de haberse vuelto independiente de España en 1821 fueron derrotadas. Antonio López de Santa Anna, comandante de las tropas mexicanas, es visto al centro de la imagen parado y dando órdenes a un hombre a caballo enfrente de él.
