Summary
Description Adana Hasan Ağa mosque3645.jpg |
English:
The Hasan Ağa mosque is also known as the Hasan Kethüda, it is situated in the area to the West of the Yağ Camii and dates from 1558. It has been built by Abdullah Hasan Ağa during the reign of the Ramazanoğlu ruler Pir Bey. It is special in that it is the only mosque in Adana in the classical Ottoman style (though the Merkez mosque is in that very style, but modern). It was damaged in an 27 June 1998 earthquake, and was back at work in 2004.
Inside there was a fine woodwork balcony over the entrance, I was told there was an alternation of motiveless panels and some 11 different motives.
