Description Affiche émigration JP au BR-déb. XXe s..jpg |
English:
A poster from the Japanese government-owned Kaigai Kōgyō (Overseas Industry Promotion) Co. used to attract immigrants to Brazil. It reads: "Let's go to South America (Brazil highlighted) with the whole family." The "whole family" is related to that the Brazilian side's goal was to guarantee a settled workforce, so basically only families with 3 or more workers were granted immigration permits.
