A uniform lift distribution over the wing of an aircraft would cause the shedding of two wingtip trailing vortices and a (stationary) starting vortex .

Note that in reality, lift distribution cannot be uniform, and that viscosity causes decay of the trailed and starting vortices.
Français : Une distribution de portance uniforme sur l’aile d’un aéronef provoquerait l’apparition de deux tourbillons marginaux et d’un tourbillon de départ (stationnaire). Il faut noter qu’en réalité, la distribution de portance ne peut être uniforme, et que la viscosité de l’air provoque la dissipation des tourbillons marginaux et de départ.
