Aît yirane est un Village rattaché à la municipalité d'Aît Bouaddou, elle même située au sud de la wilaya de Tizi-Ouzou en Grande Kabylie.
Au pied de la montagne de Djurdjura, ce village est situé à une atltitude de 813 m.
l'appelation siginifie les dompteurs de lions; à ne pas confondre avec "iri" qui signifie le bord.
Habitants: iyiranen pluriel d'un ayirane ou une thayirant.
Population: environ 1800 personnes.
