Recently refurbished historic pub on the riverside, near the Globe. This photo was taken a couple of days before it reopened. It was originally the brewery tap for the huge Anchor Brewery, based on the site behind it since 1616, but closed and demolished in 1981 ( except for one or two buildings ), to be replaced by Council housing. ( View pub before refurbishment. ) Address: 34 Park Street (formerly Bankside). Owner: Punch Taverns Spirit Group; Courage (former).
