Summary

Description
English: A picture of the ancient sunken forest at Borth Beach at low tide. The forest lay beneath the sand for thousands of years until a storm exposed them back in 2014. The trees are thought to have been submerged around 4500 years ago, and the local peat has preserved them. This forest has for years been associated with myths about a Welsh Atlantis, Cantre’r Gwaelod (The Sunken Hundred) written about in 13th century literature.
