The is a "derivative" image. I have taken a picture that someone else has already uploaded to wikipedia and reduced the shadow because (1) the original image had the brightest light in the background and (2) I hope that by adding brightness I can make the image more appropriate for using on small screens, especially on laptops where the screen in not angled "just so". |

This is a modified version of an image on wikipedia commons. I have reduced the darkness of the face, because I believe this makes the image more useful as a portrait when a wikipedia page is consulted in suboptimal lighting conditions. I hope the uploader of the original, for many purposes excellent, image will forgive my presumption.
