Summary
Description Antun Sa'ada.jpg |
English:
Antune Saada (1904-1949), president of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP). Saada was wanted in Lebanon for advocating a Greater Syria project in which the modern state of Lebanon would be integrated into Syria. He fled to Syria, seeking protection from Husni al-Zaiim, who not only offered sanctuary, but military assistance to topple the Lebanese government. Zaiim betrayed Saada and handed him to Lebanon, where he was executed on July 8, 1949.
