Arthothelium spectabile (Flot.) A. Massal., 1852 Photograph of an ascus from A. spectabile taken through a compound microscope (x1000), showing a ballon-shaped ascus containing eight, hyaline, muriform spores. This specimen of Arthothelium spectabile was growing on old decorticated wood along the Parkman Trail at Acadia National Park, in Maine, USA. Collected and identified by E.C. Uebel (No. U-75, 10 Jun 2001). |
