Description

An Aveling and Porter Roller, owned by City of Rochester Museum in 1993, in the grounds of the Civic Centre, the former Aveling and Porter Factory, at the Strood Steam Festival.

This is a 13ton example from 1925. It is powered by a Blackstone ESK (diesel) engine developing 28bhp. The 'chimney' houses the exhaust pipe! (Further information at Oldbrook Pumping Station Museum website. )
