Far left is Daniel Inouye, with Bob Dole seated at the table immediately next to him,. Both were friends at the hospital, and would later both become US Senators. Photo taken sometime between 1946-47. Photo first published in Bob Dole - One Soldier's Story. According to the Bob Dole archive, author is Jack Curtis. Curtis was a WWII aviator who was also recovering at the hospital.
