English: Drawing of the movement of a bracket clock from an 1820 encyclopedia. A bracket clock was an early pendulum clock mounted on a bracket on the wall. The pendulum is not shown on the movement but hung from the back of the clock. The clock struck the hours on its bell using an early striking mechanism called a count wheel (B) , visible toward the back of the clock. The anchor escapement (C) is also visible
