Das Wappen des Streitkräfteamts zeigt im Schildhaupt das schwarz-silberne kurkölnische Kreuz und dokumentiert den Status Bonns als kurkölnische Stadt. Der schreitende gelbe Löwe (heraldisch Panther) auf rotem Grund ist dem Wappen der Stadt Bonn entnommen. Der Bonner Löwe und das kurkölnische Kreuz symbolisieren die Verbundenheit des SKA zum Standort und dessen Geschichte. Das Eiserne Kreuz im Schildfuß dient als Hinweis, dass das SKA eine teilstreitkraftübergreifende Dienststelle ist. Die Farbgebung schwarz (Kreuz), rot (Hintergrund) und gold (gelber Löwe) entspricht den Nationalfarben der Bundesrepublik Deutschland.
