Olieverfschilderij. J.D. Beynon werd in 1830 geboren in Batavia. Na zijn opleiding in Amsterdam aan de Koninklijke Academie keerde hij in oktober 1855 terug en vestigde zich in Batavia. Hij stierf op 29 juli 1877.
