Summary

Description
English: edit

Presentations of computed tomography by thin slice, average intensity projection, maximum intensity projection , high threshold volume rendering and low threshold volume rendering.

The presented volume includes thoracic vertebrae 10, 11 and 12, as well as half lumbar vertebra 1. The projection and volume renderings include 3 cm from each side of the median plane . The low threshold volume rendering also visualizes the thoracic descending aorta (larger vessel) and the hemiazygos vein (attached to the vertebrae).

The presentations are taken from a high-resolution computed tomographs of normal vertebrae of a 37 year old man who presented with unspecific breathing problems, published with written informed consent.
