The presented volume includes thoracic vertebrae 10, 11 and 12, as well as half lumbar vertebra 1. The projection and volume renderings include 3 cm from each side of the median plane . The low threshold volume rendering also visualizes the thoracic descending aorta (larger vessel) and the hemiazygos vein (attached to the vertebrae). The presentations are taken from a high-resolution computed tomographs of normal vertebrae of a 37 year old man who presented with unspecific breathing problems, published with written informed consent. |
