Castello di Maniace, near Bronte, Sicily, in 1876. Caput of the Duchy of Bronte, awarded to Admiral Lord Nelson in 1799 by the King of Sicily. Viewed from north across the dried up river bed of the River Saraceno, with Mount Etna in the background (the main crater of which is 15 km away to the south-east).
