Dust Collecting : In smelting works and reclaimingplants, small particles of precious metals are carried alongwith the furnace gases. From the buffing and polishing wheelsof jewelry factories and silversmiths a great deal of valuablemetal is continually being lost. Settling chambers, dust col-lectors, operated by centrifugal force, and screen devices havebeen used with only partial success, due to the fact that theheavy rouge and lint are caught, but the larger part of thevaluable metal is in very fine particles, which escape withthe air. 99 Carrier Air Conditioning Company of America
