Description |
Constructed in 1914, the pier was located near the current site of Pier 66. Transcribed from postcard: "Central Pier No. 1, Port of Seattle. Public Pier on Railroad Avenue, at foot of Bell Street. Central Pier No. 1, has 1000 feet of deep sea frontage. It is two-story transit shed which is to be connected with the public market and the retail district by a viaduct over the railroad tracks. A five story concrete, cold storage warehouse is to be erected upon the acre reserved between the street and freight shed. Total cost of completed improvement $1,000,000."
