Summary

Description

A beautiful (and huge) plaque produced in the early 1970s by/for the City of Glasgow Police - which was of course the first police force in Britian when it was established in 1800.

Glasgow City Police ceased to exist on 15th May 1975, merging the next day with the other County forces of Lanarkshire, Dumbartonshire, Ayrshire, Renfrew & Bute, and Argyllshire (apart from North Argyll) to form Strathclyde Police.
