Summary

Description
English: Detail of sewing on a model Coptic binding created by Ratbasket in 2003. This binding is a modern version of a traditional Coptic binding, using Mohawk Superfine paper instead of the traditional papyrus or vellum. Note the characteristic braided pattern of the chain stitch sewing, and the "tunnel" into which the sewing thread is laced to secure the boards.
