Summary

Description
English: This corinthian capital was not found among the ruins of the Thymele during the excavation. Instead it was discovered by Cavadidas later, burried carefully by the ancients somewhere between the monument and the Temple of Askleiops. It has been considered as the original prototype by Polykleitos - "Paradeigma" as it would be called by the ancients - after which all the corinthian capitals of the Thymele were fashioned; however it may as well be a later copy. Archaeological Museum of Epidaurus.
