Summary
Description Cut Block of Coralline Crag with Bryozoan Fossils in a Church Wall in Suffolk.jpg |
English:
Quarried block of
Coralline Crag
, containing
bryozoan
fossils, in a wall of St Peter's parish church, Chillesford, Suffolk, England.
St Peter's Chillesford is one of only two churches in England that is built from the local Suffolk coralline crag. The other is Wantisden. The quarry is immediately behind the church. It gives the building a warm honey colour, distinguishing it from all its neighbours. |
