Deutsch:
Das 1454 belegte Siegel der aus einem an Baden verpfändeten Reichsdorf hervorgegangenen Stadt zeigt lediglich den Schrägbalken als Zeichen der badischen Landesherrschaft. Dieses Wappen blieb auch unter der von 1462 bis 1803 währenden pfälzischen Herrschaft über Eppingen unangetastet. Lediglich in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde es in den Stadtsiegeln kurze Zeit durch ein anderes Siegelbild ersetzt. Die erwünschte Unterscheidung des Stadtwappens vom badischen Stammwappen ist gewährleistet, seit das Innenministerium — zusammen mit der Flagge - am 14. Februar 1958 das jetzige Wappen verliehen hat. Es verbindet das badische Wappen in gespaltenem Schild mit dem in den Farben ausgetauschten Reichswappen, das auf das ehemalige Reichsdorf Eppingen hinweisen soll.
