Die Sporenräder sind dem Wappen der früher bis in das 15. Jahrhundert hinein in Norden vorherrschenden Häuptlingsfamilie Idzinga entnommen. Das Oberwappen zeigt eine Laubkrone auf dem Schild und als Schildhalter die bemäntelte Figur des heiligen Andreas vor dem Schrägkreuz stehend und den Schild haltend.
