Deutsch:
Seit 1360 sind Abdrücke von Stadtsiegeln überliefert, die den Schlüssel als das Attribut des Kirchenpatrons St. Peter aufweisen. In einer Zeichnung von 1535 erscheint ein blauer Schlüssel auf silbernem (weißem) Schildgrund. Von 1535 an treten neben dieser einfacheren Form auch Darstellungen auf, in denen die Hirschstange der württembergischen Stadtherrschaft teils mit rechtshin weisenden Spitzen über dem Schild, teils im Schild den Schlüssel überdeckend, wiedergegeben wurde. 1639 ist die Hirschstange erstmals im Schildhaupt. Die Stadtflagge wurde nachweislich schon vor dem Inkrafttreten der Deutschen Gemeindeordnung geführt.
