Description
English: Diverted express seen from the B1368 bridge, near to Hauxton, Cambridgeshire, Great Britain. This picture was taken before the railway from Royston to Cambridge was electrified. This is a diverted Kings Cross to Newcastle service heading towards Cambridge, Ely and on to Peterborough to regain the East Coast main line. Such diversions on Sundays years ago were common place.Meanwhile alongside the railway the corn has been cut and only short stubble remains in the fields.
