Summary
Description Dun Laoghaire Railway Station (terminal platform) (6977306703).jpg |
The station has been named Mallin Station since 1966, after Michael Mallin, although it is usually referred to simply as Dún Laoghaire. Until about three years ago I was unaware that it was named Mallin Station despite the fact that I used the station at least twice a day for about ten years.
The station is served by DART services, the South Eastern Commuter line, and InterCity services to Rosslare Europort via Wexford. Unusually, the station building is located on a bridge above the platforms, in a setup similar to Leixlip Louisa Bridge railway station. The station has a ticket counter, automatic ticket machines and a small coffee shop/smoothie bar. The station is immediately adjacent to Dún Laoghaire Ferryport, for Stena Line services to Holyhead. |
