Summary

Description
English: Logo of Duowei News , a Chinese-language news website, at the time of its closure

Author Chinese Media Net, Inc.

The rectangular figure in the logo was first published in November 2009 , when the organization was still headquartered in the United States, so it was first copyrighted in that country. Although the news organization and its intellectual property had been transferred to Honk Kong, the logo at the time of the website's closure was virtually identical. The only real difference between the two is that the white Chinese text has been turned black and that the domain name was shifted left to lie directly underneath the Chinese text. The two objects that were changed are too simple to be eligible for copyright in any jurisdiction, and changing either of them that way makes no difference. This copyright tag assumes the eligibility status of the logo as it was when it was under US jurisdiction, as opposed to Hong Kong or Chinese jurisdiction, both of which have very low thresholds of originality . See also the grandfather clause .
