Description Dwight Yorke 2007.jpg | Colchester United`s leading scorer Jamie Cureton is shown the yellow card after an altercation with the Sunderland left-back during their 3-1 home win in The Championship today. Dwight Yorke looks on as referee Mr Probert issues the card. Leaders Sunderland had gone 18 games unbeaten and went 1-0 down in first half injury time when centre-back Wayne Brown headed in from a free kick. Dwight Yorke equalised early in the second half but Colchester fought back, going 2-1 up with a goal from Richard Garcia in the 82nd minute, before sealing the game with a Jamie Cureton penalty on 89 minutes after Dean Whitehead had fouled in the box. A capacity crowd of just over 6000 was at Layer Road to watch this victory, which increases Colchester`s chances of making the play-offs for a place in the Premiership. | ||
