Summary
Description Ex Libris Martin Buber.jpg |
English:
One of Lilien’s most noted works was the plate done for Martin Buber. The plate is adorned with the walls of Jerusalem in the shape of a Shield of David, viewed from above. The inscription is a quote from the divine proclamation in Leviticus 25:23, “Mein ist das Land” (Mine is the land). This is an expression of Buber's Spiritual Zionist view that the land of Israel is God's possession.
