Description
English: Fort Nassau, Curacao. Erected as Fort Republiek in the early 1800s, then called Fort George during the British occupation from 1807-16, then renamed Fort Oranje Nassau afterwards. Occupied by the US military in WWII, then abandoned after 1947, before becoming a restaurant in 1959. Source: historical marker at the entrance.
