Summary

Überarbeitungsentwurf Max Meckels zur neugotischen Umgestaltung des Frankfurter Römers.

1890 legte Max Meckel der Stadt diesen gegenüber seinem ursprünglichen Entwurf in Detailfülle bereits stark reduzierte Fassung seines Plans zur Umgestaltung der Römerfassade vor. Erst die hierauf folgende, nochmals stark reduzierte Variante Meckels wurde schließlich gebaut und zeigt den Römer abzüglich der Kriegsschäden so, wie man ihn heute kennt. Die hier zu sehende Fassung fand sogar den Segen Kaiser Wilhelms II. - entgegen der endgültigen und gebauten Version.

Da Meckel bereits 1910 starb, dürften urheberrechtliche Ansprüche erloschen sein.
