This portrait of Lawson is from “Artists at Home: Photographed by J. P. Mayall, and Reproduced in Facsimile by Photo-engraving on Copper Plates,” published in London by Sampson Low, Marston, Searle and Rivington in 1884. Lawson's "Cleopatra," which was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1881, may be seen in the center of the photograph (Artists at Home, p. 24).
