Ginkgo biloba
saplings sprounting among last year's fruit in early July in Iowa. Note that some saplings have
varigated
leaves -- incompletely pigmented, with green stripes against an almost white leaf. Although neither parent tree has varigated leaves, perhaps 1 in 20 of the seedlings from the 2008 crop have them.
