El monumento se llama "La lucha del hombre contra el mar", ya que Churruca consiguió hacer más navegable la ría de Bilbao. El monumento representa a un hombre empujando una gigantesca piedra sobre el dios Neptuno, a quien se le ha caído la corona y cuyo tridente yace roto en el suelo.

The monument is called "The struggle of man against the sea", due to the fact that Churruca improved the safety to ships of the Ría de Bilbao . The monument depicts a man pushing a slab of stone over the God Neptune, whose attributes, Trident and Crown, lay broken on the ground. |
