Das Wappen wurde von Staatsarchivar Eduard Wymann entworfen und 1925 von der Gemeinde angenommen. Das Tor weist auf den Zollposten an der alten Reussbrücke hin, das Posthorn erinnert an den Gotthardverkehr früherer Zeiten.
