Compass stand from the bridge of HMAS Sydney (1912) , installed at Port Macquarie, New South Wales in 1929. Notes:
Compass Stand from Bridge of HMAS Sydney which destroyed the German Raider Emden at Cocos Island on 1914-09-09 . Erected to mark the spot where Surveyor General John Oxley camped on his arrival at Port Macquarie on 1818-10-08 after his expedition from Bathurst , down the Macquarie River , over the New England range, and down the Hastings River .
