Pictured: USS America (foreground) an amphibious assault ship of the United States Navy, HMS Queen Elizabeth (centre) and the JS Ise, a Hyūga-class helicopter destroyer of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force whilst in the Philippine Sea.On Tuesday 24th August 2021, HMS Kent took part in a large-scale formation sailing exercise whilst in the Philippine Sea.The Type 23 Frigate joined eight ships from the UK and other Nations including the Netherlands, Japan and the United States in various sea and air exercises, the final exercise being all ships sailing in proximity otherwise known as formation sailing.HMS Kent forms part of the Carrier Strike Group that are currently deployed in the Indo-Pacific region.Pictured: HMS Queen Elizabeth (centre) joins USS America and JS Ise in a large scale formation sailing exercise whilst in the Phillipine Sea.
