Description
English: The He Tohu Document Room houses New Zealand's three most iconic constitutional documents: 1835 He Whakaputanga o te Rangatiratanga o Nu Tireni - Declaration of Independence of the United Tribes of New Zealand; 1840 Te Tiriti o Waitangi - Treaty of Waitangi; and 1893 Women’s Suffrage Petition – Te Petihana Whakamana Pōti Wahine. The documents were moved from the Constitution Room at National Archives to the He Tohu Document Room at the National Library in April 2017. The He Tohu Document Room was opened to the public on 19 May 2017.
