Summary
Description Holystoning the deck on HMS Pandora.jpg |
English:
This photograph shows five sailors kneeling with
holystones
, surrounded by 14 other sailors, all obviously posing for the camera. According to the handwritten text on the album sheet to which the photograph is affixed this is "HM.S. Pandora. Holy stoning the deck". There is no information as to who the photographer may be, and considering that the photograph must have been taken before 1913 (the date
HMS Pandora
was scrapped), it is unlikely that he/she can now be identified.
