Summary

Description Stockton & Darlington Railway Class "1001" 0-6-0 No.1275 (and the same number was retained bith by the North Eastern Railway and LNER) at the National Railway Museum York, 09/10. No.1275 is of the "Stephenson Long Boiler "type, one of the most successful of the early mineral loco designs and they had very long lives. NO.1275 was designed by Bouch and built by Dubs at Glasgow (works No.1874) in 1874 although the "1001" Class waqs built from 1864 to 1875.
